Well I took the opertunity to make a site update that I had been planning to make for a while. All these new things have been tested in the new forum but obviously if you have prolems please post here!
Summary of site updates:
- site should now be more searchable by search engines, hopefully boosting pr
- updates to forum: quotes (click on the quote button next to a post), adding polls to posts (link at bottom of post form), uploading images to posts (still needing a little fiddling).
You sould have noticed that when new posts apeared on the forum little ! markers apeared to tell which thread contains new messages. You can now click on that icon and it will take you to the first unread post in that thread.
The code has generally been made more efficient.
- Signatures added. If you have a rating of about 1 star then you are entitled to add a signature if you choose. Please note that pictures in signatures are frowned apon. Please user galleries and profile pics for pictures.
- Picture uploads. As stated before you can upload pics to posts. You can also upload to your profile, user gallery and random picture generator. This still needs a little work but should be complete in the next couple of days.
- Members section has changed a little. You can also check members profiles to see when they were last logged on! Similarly the home page contains users that have logged on in the last 15 minutes.
- The home page has been rearranged a little. The idea of the home page is to give a summary of the site, which I believe the newer format does better.
- Search function. IMO people either visit this site and wish to post or they are just looking for information. That is why I have added a search function. There are three types of search, complete, user and image. A complete search searches through the forums, reviews and external links, user search searches through user profiles and finally image search searches through all images on the server.
Looks like it will work well especially when the site contains more data and more varied data (anyone wonna write a review
)

Many bugs have also been fixed and other small changes made to make things run slightly more smoothly.
I also noticed that dispite my efforts of keeping people off the site whiles making the updates some people found a way round
Probably becuase they have the forum bookmarked rather than the home page. Can I recommend that you check other areas of the site as well as the forum
Also I am gonna take the time to write a number of how to's in this forum.
This should help people to use the new updates to there full potential!
